OOTY

                                                                      Queen of the Nilgiris

Settled in between misty mountains and cotton clouds, Ooty or Ootakamund is popularly known as the "Queen of the hills". The Nilgiris or the "Blue mountains" are one of the major eye catching spots of the hill station. The striking windy roads, the hill top gardens and mini toy train add to the already mesmerising scenery. On a clear day with bright sunlight, the tinsel town looks as drawn in the children books.

One can notice a marvelous change in vegetation, as one goes from Kallar to Coonoor. The establishment of numerous tea estates made Ooty famous. Lofty mountains, dense forest, sprawling grasslands and miles and miles of tea gardens greet the passengers on most routes.
