HIGHLIGHTED CORE LEARNING:
This is a tour to understand how we are linked to our history, and in identifying those aspects of our lives that are a result of what has happened in the past. Nearly every city and town in our country has within its limits, a fort, or some other building of historical importance. Some of them have a direct connection with the “mainstream” history of India, while others have more locally oriented stories to tell. But whether it is a fort, an old mansion, a temple, or a caravanserai, it definitely holds important evidence of a bygone age, and offers many pointers to the social and perhaps political history of that age.
The concept of forts to present day defence and security systems – air raid shelters, underground bunkers for safety against nuclear attack, etc. Also, at the more immediate community level – security against everyday crime, isolation of residential from commercial/industrial areas. Such discussions and activities would develop the children’s imaginative and reasoning abilities.
MISSION & VISION:
1. To help build observational skills and analysis
2. To help develop an understanding and appreciation of local history
3. To help children become sensitive to research
4. To make children discover things on their own
