HIGHLIGHTED CORE LEARNING:

Expedition to wildlife conservation through fun and interactive session can be an amazing experience for children. It teaches a child about the awareness on sustainability and the damage to native animals and the environment. As well, teaching kids about wildlife conservation ensures that our beautiful country and its matchless wildlife will be preserved for future generations.

MIDDLE SCHOOL: How has the trip enhanced the importance of wildlife conservation in the context to the current crisis of deforestation and global warming?

HIGH SCHOOL: What inspiration can you draw from visiting a place like Thenmala known for lush vegetation in comparison to the city you live, what about the lifestyle you observed during the trip which is different from the city life which you would love to have in your city.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE:

VARKKALA BEACH: Is also known as Papanasham Beach because a dip in the holy waters at this beach is believed to purge the body of impurities and the soul of all sins. Sea, sand, coconut trees, laterite and aimless windy beauty will follow your path. The major specialties are Beach, mineral water springs, the Sivagiri Mutt and a 2000-year- old Vishnu Temple.  

THENMALA DAM: also known as Kallada Dam or Parappara Dam. The surroundings of Thenmala Dam are developed under eco-tourism development activities. Due to the peculiar floristic composition of the forest, the honey collected from Thenmala forest is famous for its medicinal values. We can also visit the traditional tree houses of the tribal of this area.

CULTURAL ZONE: This zone accommodates various activities, which favors Ecofriendly General Tourism. It help to understand Kerala cuisines, Kerala crafts, natural wealth, Kerala's Art, Culture etc. An open air Musical Dancing Fountain which is considered, as "Natures Dance" is another major attraction here.

NAKSHATRA VANAM: A garden comprising of 27 trees associated with the 27 birth stars. You will be blessed to see all the 27 trees planted in the garden. Students will get more information about the trees. There is a book published about the details of Nakshatravanam titled “Stars & Trees-Trees of the Nakshatravanam”

BUTTERFLY SAFARI: An abode of the butterflies in an open ambience. A garden of host plants for the butterfly has been created enabling the large number of butterfly species of the region to thrive. A guided walk (Safari) along the nature trail of the garden will provide the visitor an opportunity to sight the butterflies and to learn about the butterflies.

LEISURE ZONE: Study about nature and eco-tourism. This zone is a forest garden. The pathways of the forest garden takes the visitor to the sculpture garden. A walk through the river side walkway and the suspension bridge adds to the experience. The theme of the Garden is MAN and NATURE.

DEER REHABILITATION CENTRE: Apart from various varieties of deer what you can see interesting here is a Tree House and a small Children’s park with some ecologically blended resting places. In the deer park you can see Barking Deer (Kezha Maan in Malayalam), Sambar Deer (Mlave), Spotted deer [Chittal, Cheetal, Axis deer, Pulli Maan in Malayalam].

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellations are effective on the date written intimation is received by the Tour In charge / School Office. Cancellation will not be received orally or over the phone. Refund if any will be settled within 21 days of the arrival of the Tour.

1) 25 days or more prior to departure date: 25% of the tour cost will be non-refundable

2) 20 days to 24 days prior to departure date: 40% of the tour cost will be non-refundable

3) 15 days to 19 days prior to departure date: 50% of the tour cost will be non-refundable

4) 10 days to 14 days prior to departure date: 75% of the tour cost will be non-refundable

5) 9 days or lesser prior to departure date: 100% of tour cost will be non-refundable
