ASSOCIATED PROJECTS:

MIDDLE SCHOOL: Do you think life exists on other planets? How could we find out?

HIGH SCHOOL: In what ways could the exploration of the moon and our solar system tell us about our own planet's origin?

LEARNING OBJECTIVE:

DAKSHINA CHITRA: It is a living history museum, has 18 heritage houses representing the living styles of people from the states of south India. The original houses were dismantled and later recreated along with the original settings, like the landscape and roads, in the museum. It is an exciting cross-cultural museum of art, architecture, lifestyles, crafts & performing arts of South India.

SATISH DHAWAN SPACE CENTRE or SHAR: Study & explore the overall functioning & activities at the Space Centre. It is the world’s fastest-growing Space Camp. Also, learn about Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle and GSLV developed by ISRO to allow India to launch its Indian Remote Sensing (IRS) satellites into Sun-synchronous orbits.

SHORE TEMPLE: Learn about the culmination of architectural creations of Pallava, Chola and Vijayanagara temples, initiated by the king Narasimha Varma I. Shore Temple is so called because it stands on the shores of Coromandel Coast on the Bay of Bengal at Mahabalipuram. It is a temple complex and has very distinctive features unlike other temples of the period.

TRIMURTI CAVE TEMPLE: A study about the architecture and History of the pallava dynasty. The temples are dedicated to Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. There is also a Durga Panel and Elephants Panel. The doors are flanked by Dwarapalakas in narrow panels.

FIVE RATHAS: Learn about the art and architecture of the Pallava dynasty. The structures are without any precedent in Indian architecture. Each of the rathas stands on a single long stone or monolith. The structures were not completed nor consecrated. They are named after the Pancha Pandavas.
