Conservation of heritage structures is an interdisciplinary effort, wherein traditional knowledge on building materials, techniques and specifications are brought to the realm of current practitioners of conservation engineering, with the intent of merging them with modern tools and practices. in a country with strong spiritual roots, the approach to conservation of built heritage has to explore the basis of the ancient building system, the centrality of the spirit in the building activity and the philosophy of non-permanence of the material.

OTHER PLACE OF INTEREST

Mysore Zoo is one of the best zoological gardens in India. Maharaja Chamaraja Wodeyar established this Zoo in the year 1892 for the Royals. Zoo's meticulous planning is responsible for making it a special zoological garden. It tends to create a natural habitat for the animals in it. From Big to small cats, Aquatic to terrestrial birds, and Primates to reptiles, one Hundred and Sixty-Eight species find their place in this zoo. 

St Philomena’s Church - This beautiful cathedral was built in 1956 and is one of the largest churches in the country. It has been built in the neo- gothic style was designed by the reversed Rene Feuge, with beautiful stain glass windows and lofty towers.

Arrival and visitTIPPU’S GUMBAZ-The Gumbaz is a large mausoleum in the middle of an expansive garden that houses the cenotaphs of Tipu Sultan, his father Hyder Ali and mother Fakr-Un-Nisa. In fact Tipu Sultan built the Gumbaz as a fitting tribute to his heroic father.

visit MYSORE PALACE: Mysore Palace history spans for more than 500 years.  But what you see now in Mysore is the modern palace built in 1912. As mentioned earlier the first palace was built during 14th 1t power shifts in the region, Raja Wodeyar moved the capital to Srirangapatna from Mysore in 1610. The palace in Mysore however continued to serve as a royal residence.
