Proceed to Full Day Phillip Island Tour - Includes Ranger

Oceania Tours will whisk you away to discover Phillip Island's unique nature experiences and dramatic landscapes. Your small group tour will help to further the protection and conservation of the local fauna and flora.

The tour will drive southeast from Melbourne to reach Moonlit Sanctuary Conservation Park, where you will meet endangered species, kangaroos, wallabies, and koalas, plus an array of colorful birds and reptiles.

The journey then leads to Phillip Island, the home of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and the famous Little Penguins. Upon arrival on the island, depending on the time of year and your particular interests, you will then visit Woolamai Beach to see surfers riding the waves. From here, the tour continues to the western corner of the island to enjoy magnificent views of Bass Strait and the Nobbies, which is home to the largest colony of fur seals in Australia.

During the daylight savings months, you will travel to the town of Cowes, where you will have free time for dinner. In the winter months, you can have something to eat at the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre or wait for your early arrival back at your city hotel. Finally, a trip to Phillip Island is not complete without its black-tie gala event: the Penguin Parade. Join your ranger guide for an informative journey through the penguin colony, enjoying their commentary via your personal headset. Take your seat in the wonderfully located beachfront viewing stand offering superb views of the penguins emerging from the water and crossing the beach. Use the supplied binoculars to try and spot the penguins gathering in the water before they make their way across the beach to their burrows.

Working with new, rich audio-visual components, where images are projected onto the fabric of the building, your guide will take you on an emotional journey, engrossing you in a story to rival any opera plot with its dramatic twists and turns. Some 1,500 performances, from opera to circus, rock and cabaret, are staged each year to audiences of around 1.5 million. Please Note: There are over 300 steps in the tour and participants are required to wear comfortable closed toed shoes. All large items of luggage or backpacks must be cloaked before the start of the tour. Access to individual theatres is subject to availability and may be limited due to performances, rehearsals and other events.

Important Notes

  • Most tours in Australia start early in the morning (between 7 - 9 am). Its recommended to finish breakfast early to catch the tours in time.
  • Your tours may have pickup points which are not from the hotel but 5-10 mins walk from your hotel. In that case you will need to walk to the pickup points on your own.
