Program Overview

“Little Habitat Detectives” is a thoughtfully designed full-day learning experience where young learners explore how animals live, stay safe, and meet their needs in natural and protected habitats. Through guided observation in the Butterfly Park, zoo walks, a real wildlife safari, hands-on learning stations, and reflective storytelling, children build early ecological awareness, empathy for living beings, and a sense of responsibility toward nature.

ATL Skills

Children strengthen Thinking, Research, Communication, Social, and Self-Management skills as they observe animals in real environments, record discoveries in their Habitat Detective Passports, work in small groups, follow conservation rules, express ideas through drawing and discussion, and reflect on how humans can protect living things.

Learning Objectives

Children understand basic animal needs, observe physical features and behaviours, practise gentle and responsible actions, develop curiosity through inquiry, and communicate ideas using drawings, simple sentences, and shared reflections.

Learning Outcomes

Children confidently describe animal habitats and survival features, follow safety routines, share observations meaningfully, demonstrate care for living things, and reflect on simple actions that help protect nature.
