Transdisciplinary Theme: How the World Works – Science • Systems • Innovation
MYP Global Context: Scientific & Technical Innovation
Age Group: MYP 5 (15–16 years)
Duration: Full-Day Experiential Learning Tour
Venue: Discovate – Experiential Science, Adventure & Innovation Zone
Learning Approach: Hands-on • Inquiry-Based • Conceptual • Evidence-Driven
"Touch it, test it, understand it" immerses MYP 5 learners in a dynamic blend of experiential systems exploration, technological applications, and applied science challenges. Students engage with innovation-driven experiences, observe systems in operation, test ideas through inquiry, and interpret cause–effect relationships in real time. Through hands-on engagement, they develop scientific curiosity, analytical reasoning, observational accuracy, risk awareness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to construct evidence-based explanations.
Systems • Innovation • Cause & Effect
Research Skills: observation, guided inquiry, evidence gathering
Critical Thinking: predicting, reasoning, analysing cause–effect, justifying responses
Students will:
understand scientific systems and technological innovation through real-world investigation
explore how systems function and respond to variables
connect innovation, design, and purpose through inquiry
Students will:
identify and explain systems in action
describe cause–effect relationships confidently
justify explanations using observation and evidence
