Focus: Understanding how firefighters help communities stay safe
Cambridge Primary Global Perspectives (Stage 1):
• Identify different roles within a community
• Recognise simple rules that keep people safe

Cambridge Primary English (Stage 1 – Speaking and Listening):
• Listen and respond appropriately
• Describe experiences using simple vocabulary

Cambridge Primary Art & Design (Stage 1):
• Represent real-life experiences through drawing
• Use simple shapes and symbols to communicate ideas
This experiential learning visit introduces students to firefighters and their role in protecting the community. Through observation of equipment, guided demonstrations, structured role-play, and reflective discussion, students build awareness of safety systems and develop empathy, gratitude, and responsible behaviour in public spaces.
Students will:
• Identify firefighters as community helpers
• Recognise basic firefighting tools
• Understand simple fire safety behaviours
• Practise respectful communication
• Express personal feelings confidently
By the end of the program, students will:
• Name at least one firefighter role
• Identify two firefighting tools
• State one safety rule
• Demonstrate safe behaviour during demonstrations
• Share one reflection verbally
