Program Overview

“Heritage and Change” positions traditional Indian folk art and craftsmanship as case studies in how societies preserve and communicate identity.

PYP 5 learners investigate how symbols, colour, material choice, technique, and storytelling transmit cultural knowledge.

The inquiry extends beyond appreciation toward evaluation:

How does craft preserve heritage?
What happens when traditional art meets modern industry?
Can cultural identity evolve without being lost?

Students collect observational evidence, engage artisans through structured questioning, compare production systems, analyse symbolism, and construct reasoned interpretations. The experience prepares learners for Exhibition-level thinking through perspective analysis and synthesis.
