Subject: Cambridge Lower Secondary Global Perspectives, English & History (Stage 7)

Venue: Melkote • Sanskrit Research Institute • Traditional Toy Unit • Janapada Loka
Program Type: Full-Day Interdisciplinary Field Inquiry
Age Group: 12–13 years
Duration: One Full Academic Day
Focus: Historical change, cultural continuity, heritage preservation and identity formation

Program Overview:

This full-day field inquiry positions Melkote and associated cultural institutions as historical case studies through which students investigate how societies evolve while maintaining cultural continuity.

Learners examine linguistic heritage, manuscript preservation, traditional craftsmanship and folk culture to understand how identity is shaped over time. Through structured inquiry, comparative analysis and evidence-based reflection, students evaluate how traditions are sustained, adapted or transformed across generations.

The inquiry progression follows:
Historical Context → Evidence Collection → Comparative Analysis → Interpretation → Reflection on Relevance

Students gather primary field evidence, analyse patterns of change and continuity, and construct justified explanations grounded in observation.
