Subject: Cambridge Lower Secondary English, Global Perspectives & Art and Design (Stage 8)

Program Type: Full-Day Cultural and Creative Field Inquiry
Age Group: 13–14 years
Duration: One Full Academic Day
Focus: Cultural identity, symbolism, craftsmanship, heritage preservation and interpretive analysis

Program Overview:

This full-day cultural inquiry positions Janapada Loka and Channapatna artisan units as living heritage systems through which students critically analyse how identity, values and collective memory are communicated through creative expression.

Learners examine symbolism, material choice, artistic process and generational transmission of craft. Students evaluate how creativity preserves culture, adapts to modernity and sustains community identity. Through structured inquiry, field documentation and reflective synthesis, learners construct evidence-based interpretations of cultural meaning.

The inquiry progression follows:
Observation → Symbolic Interpretation → Cultural Contextualisation → Comparative Evaluation → Reflective Expression

Students move beyond appreciation to analytical interpretation and cultural critique.
