Programme Overview

This Stage 9 field investigation examines how heritage, language, craftsmanship and cultural traditions shape identity across time.

Students engage in structured historical inquiry to:

  • Analyse continuity and change within Karnataka’s cultural evolution

  • Interpret artefacts and sites as historical evidence

  • Evaluate preservation practices and modern adaptation

  • Assess how cultural identity is maintained, transformed or contested

Inquiry progression:

Historical Contextualisation → Evidence Collection → Interpretation → Comparative Analysis → Evaluative Judgement

The emphasis is on evidence-based historical reasoning, not surface-level appreciation.
