Set within one of India's most celebrated wildlife landscapes, this immersive learning journey transforms students into young ecologists, field researchers, and reflective thinkers. From observing wildlife in their natural habitat to examining the relationship between rivers and biodiversity, students experience nature not as spectators, but as active investigators.

Designed in alignment with the Crazy Holidays Experiential Learning Framework™, this programme integrates inquiry-led exploration, structured reflection, and real-world application. Students return with sharpened analytical skills, heightened environmental awareness, and a profound appreciation for the responsibility of stewardship.

NAGARHOLE EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING JOURNEY

Wilderness, Inquiry and Ecological Stewardship

Grade 8 to Grade 12 | 2 Days / 1 Night

THE LEARNING THEME

INTERCONNECTED ECOSYSTEMS

Exploring how biodiversity, water systems, and human choices shape the balance of life.

In the ancient forests of Nagarhole and along the life-giving Kabini River, students step into a living laboratory where ecology, geography, ethics, and scientific inquiry converge. Every observation becomes evidence. Every encounter becomes insight. Every reflection deepens their understanding of the intricate systems that sustain life on Earth.

DAY 1 – ENTERING THE LIVING CLASSROOM

06:00 AM – Departure from Bangalore

“Every meaningful journey begins where curiosity meets purpose.”

As students depart from the city, they begin a transition from familiar routines to one of India's richest ecological landscapes. The road ahead leads not only to the wilderness, but to deeper understanding.

07:30 AM – Breakfast En Route

A wholesome breakfast served during the journey.

08:30 AM – Snacks & Juice

Light refreshments to keep students energized.

12:30 PM – Arrival at Nagarhole (Approx. 220 km | 5.5 Hours from Bangalore)

“Where the forest reveals the quiet architecture of life.”

Students arrive at Nagarhole National Park, part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and one of India's most important conservation landscapes. Here, each tree, trail, and water source supports a complex web of biodiversity.

01:00 PM – Lunch

Freshly prepared lunch at the resort.

03:30 PM – Jungle Safari

“In the wild, observation becomes the first language of science.”

A guided safari through the forest offers students a rare opportunity to witness ecological relationships unfolding in real time. Animal behavior, camouflage, adaptation, and habitat dynamics become tangible as the forest reveals its hidden rhythms.

05:00 PM – Snacks & Juice

Refreshments following the safari.

07:00 PM – Traditional Karnataka Dinner

“Cuisine is a map of the land, its climate, and its culture.”

Students enjoy an authentic Karnataka dinner featuring regional favourites such as Ragi Mudde, Bisi Bele Bath, Akki Roti, Sambar, and traditional sweets.

This curated dining experience introduces students to how food traditions are shaped by geography, agricultural practices, and generations of cultural wisdom. It is an invitation to understand heritage through taste.

08:30 PM – Campfire & Reflection Circle

“Beneath the stars, discoveries become understanding.”

Through storytelling, music, and guided reflection, students synthesize the day's observations and share emerging insights about biodiversity, conservation, and the interconnectedness of life.

DAY 2 – WATER, LIFE AND RESPONSIBILITY

08:30 AM – Breakfast

Nutritious breakfast at the resort.

09:30 AM – Snacks & Juice

Light refreshments before the field visit.

10:00 AM – Visit to Kabini River (20 km | 40 Minutes)

“Every river is a moving story of life, resilience, and connection.”

At the serene Kabini River, students examine the critical role water plays in sustaining ecosystems. The river becomes a lens through which they explore biodiversity, human impact, and the ethical responsibility of environmental stewardship.

12:00 PM – Check-Out

Departure formalities and preparation for the return journey.

01:00 PM – Lunch

Final group lunch in the heart of the wilderness.

04:30 PM – Snacks & Juice

Refreshments served during the journey.

05:00 PM – Departure to Bangalore (Approx. 220 km | 5.5 Hours)

“The journey home begins, but the inquiry continues.”

As the forest recedes into the distance, students carry home more than photographs and memories. They return with new questions, stronger perspectives, and a richer understanding of the systems that sustain life.

10:30 PM – Arrival at School

Students return more observant, more reflective, and more capable of connecting academic learning to the real world.
