Embark on an immersive 4-day experiential learning journey through the natural, cultural and historical landscapes of Kodaikanal and Madurai. From the star-shaped Kodaikanal Lake and rich biodiversity of Bryant Park to mountain viewpoints, geological formations, Silver Cascade Falls and the National Gandhi Museum, students explore how nature, human intervention, heritage and history shape our understanding of place.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
OUR LEARNING FRAMEWORK
At Crazy Holidays, we believe learning happens best when students experience, reflect, and apply.
We don’t organize trips. We design curriculum-connected learning journeys that build:
HOW WE DELIVER OUTCOMES
“Every landscape has a story. This journey is about learning to read it.”
DAY 01: BANGALORE → MADURAI → KODAIKANAL
09:15 PM – Departure to Kodaikanal by 3rd AC Train
Train No. 16236 | Bangalore → Madurai
“The journey begins long before the mountains appear.”
Leaving Bangalore behind, the overnight train journey takes students towards Madurai—the gateway to the hills of Kodaikanal. As the cityscape gives way to changing landscapes, the journey itself becomes the first chapter of the experience.
Dinner: Dinner will be provided on board.

DAY 02: MADURAI → KODAIKANAL
07:25 AM – Arrival at Madurai Central Railway Station
07:45 AM – Proceed to Kodaikanal by Private Coach
“From the warmth of the plains to the cool embrace of the Palani Hills.”
The road journey introduces a striking transition in geography. Gradually climbing from the plains towards the hills, the landscape changes in altitude, vegetation and character.
08:30 AM – Breakfast
12:00 PM – Buffet Lunch & Hotel Check-in
02:00 PM – Proceed to Kodaikanal Lake
03:00 PM – Visit Kodaikanal Lake
“A star-shaped lake at the heart of a landscape shaped by human vision.”
Created in 1863, Kodaikanal Lake is one of the defining features of the hill station. Its distinctive star-like form, surrounded by green meadows and hills, makes it an unforgettable introduction to the relationship between people and place.
Pedal Boat Experience
Subject to availability and safety.
“See the landscape from within it—not just from its shore.”
04:00 PM – Proceed to Bryant Park
04:30 PM – Visit Bryant Park
“A living gallery of colour, diversity and mountain flora.”
Spread across 20.5 acres, Bryant Park brings together an impressive variety of trees, shrubs, cacti and flowering plants. Established by H. D. Bryant in 1908, the park reflects the richness of plant life that thrives in the Kodaikanal hills.
05:30 PM – Visit Shenbaganur Museum
“Where the mountains preserve their stories in specimens, collections and living heritage.”
Maintained by Sacred Heart College – Theological Seminary, Shenbaganur Museum houses collections connected with the archaeology, flora and fauna of the hills. Its orchidarium, with more than 300 species of orchids, forms an important part of the experience.
05:30 PM – Evening Snacks
06:30 PM – Return to Hotel
07:30 PM – Dinner at Hotel
09:00 PM – Good night / Retire for the Day

DAY 03: KODAIKANAL

09:00 AM – Proceed to Coaker’s Walk
09:10 AM – Visit Coaker’s Walk
“At the edge of the mountain, perspective changes everything.”
Constructed by Lt. Coaker in 1872, this narrow pedestrian pathway runs along the southern side of Kodaikanal and opens towards wide views of the plains below. The walk offers an opportunity to experience the mountains not simply as scenery, but as a landscape of changing elevation and perspective.
Telescope House
“A distant landscape becomes a closer story.”
Located at the northern end of Coaker’s Walk, the Telescope House provides panoramic views extending towards Sothupparai Dam, Vaigai Dam, Periyakulam and the Varaha River.
10:30 AM – Snacks
10:45 AM – Proceed to Green Valley View
Arrival & Visit – Green Valley View
“One viewpoint. An entire valley unfolding beneath you.”
Green Valley View offers a panoramic view of the plains and the Vaigai Dam, with a dramatic drop of approximately 1,500 metres. The viewpoint demonstrates how dramatically the character of a landscape changes when viewed from elevation.
11:30 AM – Proceed to Pillar Rocks
11:45 AM – Visit Pillar Rocks
“Three granite pillars standing as a reminder that landscapes are shaped by time.”
The three towering granite formations rise vertically against the surrounding hills, reaching around 400 feet in height. Their scale and striking form make Pillar Rocks one of Kodaikanal’s most distinctive natural landmarks.
01:00 PM – Lunch
02:30 PM – Small Trek to Dolphin’s Nose
“Follow the trail to where the mountain appears to meet the sky.”
Dolphin’s Nose is a flat rock projecting from the mountain, overlooking a deep cliff and positioned at an elevation of approximately 6,600 feet. The approach brings students into a more intimate encounter with the mountainous terrain.
Mountain Beauty • Dolphin’s Nose • Echo Point • Difference Rock • Vaigai Dam View
“The same mountains reveal a different story from every viewpoint.”
The sequence of viewpoints transforms the journey from simply observing one scenic location to experiencing the landscape through changing perspectives, elevations and horizons.

09:30 AM – Proceed to Silver Cascade Falls
10:00 AM – Visit Silver Cascade Falls
Subject to water level
“Water leaves the lake and begins a new journey down the mountain.”
Silver Cascade is created by the overflow of Kodaikanal Lake. The waterfall therefore connects two moments of the journey—the man-made lake encountered earlier and the movement of water through the mountain landscape.
10:20 AM – Transfer to Madurai
01:00 PM – Lunch
02:00 PM – Proceed to National Gandhi Museum
02:30 PM – Visit National Gandhi Museum, Madurai
“From reading the landscape to reading the story of a nation.”
The National Gandhi Museum houses an extensive collection connected with Mahatma Gandhi, Kasturba and India’s freedom struggle. Photographs, documents, books, journals, relics, audio-visual material, exhibitions and memorabilia create a direct encounter with an important chapter of modern Indian history.
The journey now moves beyond the physical landscape to another kind of human landscape—one shaped by ideas, movements, people and historical choices.
03:30 PM – Snacks & Juice
05:00 PM – Proceed to Madurai Junction Railway Station
07:00 PM – Arrival & Report at Madurai Junction Railway Station
